Amy Boesen’s path to a career in interior decorating was not a straight one. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Clothing and Design (with an emphasis in fashion design) she put her creative aspirations on the back burner while she pursued a 20 year career in the corporate world. A fortuitous corporate downsizing event in 2003 prompted Amy to return to her design roots and she never looked back. She has operated Decor & You in Omaha, Nebraska for over ten years, helping hundreds of people love the space they’re in.
Amy always jokes that she likes “shiny things”, but that’s an oversimplification; her real passion is for marrying design and functionality in such a way as to impact how people feel about their homes and offices. By subtly manipulating the mix of light, line, color, balance and texture she coaxes forward the personalities of her clients to help them achieve results they would struggle to achieve on their own. She loves the unique challenge that each project provides, both from a design standpoint and in the opportunity to build relationships with her clients—and their kids, pets, co-workers, mothers, etc.!
Amy is flexible and welcomes projects of all sizes. Whether its a single room makeover, a remodeling project or new construction, Amy helps her clients navigate the process from start to finish, from space planning through installation and all the steps in-between.
